YOUTH TESTING — ChampLab

Test. Track. Improve. Reach Your Potential.

Science-Based Player Assessment. Lithuanian Basketball Expertise. Long-Term Development.

ChampLab is an innovative youth basketball testing and performance monitoring platform developed to objectively assess physical and technical abilities, track individual progress, and support science-based player development.

Built upon more than 20 years of physical and technical performance data collected from Lithuanian youth basketball players using scientifically validated testing methods, ChampLab transforms extensive research and practical experience into an accessible and effective player development tool.

The platform enables young players, coaches, teams, and basketball organizations to understand current performance levels, identify development priorities, and monitor progress throughout different stages of a player’s basketball journey.

Our approach goes beyond measuring performance — we turn testing results into meaningful information that supports smarter training decisions and long-term player development.

Scientific Foundation and Lithuanian Basketball Benchmarking

ChampLab is based on a comprehensive database of youth basketball performance indicators collected over more than two decades of systematic testing and monitoring in Lithuania.

The scientific foundation of the platform combines validated assessment methods, longitudinal player development data, and research into the application of optimal physical training loads.

A distinctive feature of ChampLab is its reference system, developed using performance indicators of leading Lithuanian youth basketball players whose subsequent careers have been monitored, including athletes who progressed to professional basketball competitions.

This allows young players to compare their current abilities against reference performance levels associated with athletes who later competed in professional leagues, including the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL), EuroLeague, and NBA.

Six Scientifically Validated Performance Tests

ChampLab evaluates young basketball players through a structured assessment system consisting of:

  • Three Physical Performance Tests — designed to assess key physical abilities relevant to basketball performance and development.

  • Three Basketball Technical Skills Tests — designed to evaluate basketball-specific technical proficiency and skill development.

Each test is conducted using scientifically validated assessment protocols to support objective, consistent, and comparable performance measurements.

10-Point Performance Evaluation System

To make performance assessment clear and accessible, ChampLab converts each individual test result into a standardized 10-point evaluation scale.

Scores range from 1 to 10, allowing players and coaches to identify current performance levels, recognize strengths and weaknesses, and monitor improvements over time.

A score of 10 represents an exceptionally high performance level, benchmarked against reference indicators achieved by leading Lithuanian youth basketball players whose subsequent careers reached professional competition, including the LKL, EuroLeague, and NBA.

This approach provides young athletes with meaningful performance references and helps coaches establish realistic, individualized development priorities.

Three Levels of Performance Monitoring

ChampLab provides a flexible monitoring system designed for individual players, basketball teams, and entire organizations.

1. Individual Player Monitoring

Players can access their personal assessment results, track changes in physical and technical abilities, compare performance across testing periods, and follow their individual development over time.

2. Team Performance Monitoring

Coaches can monitor the assessment results of an entire team, evaluate individual and collective performance indicators, identify development needs, and support more informed training planning.

3. Basketball Organization Monitoring

Basketball schools, academies, and clubs can access an integrated overview of performance indicators across all their teams, enabling systematic monitoring of player development throughout the organization.

This three-level structure connects individual assessment with team coaching and organization-wide player development management.

From Testing to Better Training Decisions

ChampLab is designed to support the practical application of performance data in everyday basketball coaching.

By combining standardized testing, scientifically established performance benchmarks, and longitudinal monitoring, the platform helps coaches identify development priorities and make more informed decisions regarding physical preparation, technical skills training, and the selection of appropriate training loads.

Repeated assessments allow players and coaches to evaluate changes in performance, review the effectiveness of training programs, and adjust development strategies according to individual progress.

The ultimate objective is not simply to identify talented players, but to create a more informed, measurable, and sustainable development process for every young basketball athlete.

Measure Your Progress. Shape Your Future.

Whether you are a young player looking to understand your abilities, a coach seeking objective training insights, or a basketball organization developing a systematic player monitoring program, ChampLab provides the tools to measure performance and support continuous improvement.
